POCHETTINO OPEN TO LEAVING CHELSEA IF ONE OF THESE TWO THINGS HAPPEN

Chelsea has been on a rollercoaster ride this season, veering from moments of brilliance to frustrating lows.

While recent victories against West Ham, Tottenham, and the famous win against Manchester United provided glimpses of excellence, overall, the London-based club has struggled to find consistency in their performances.

The constant change of leadership, from the owners, senior administrators and down to the support staff hasn’t helped with a lot either.

You only know the true worth of something once it is out of your reach. This has been true for Chelsea who have attempted to find the right manager to replace Tuchel. (Somewhat irreplaceable)

Pochettino is the fourth attempt, and compared to his predecessors, he had shown promise.

So, Should Chelsea and Mauricio Part Ways At The End of The Season?

In a recent statement on May 10, 2024, Mauricio Pochettino expressed his willingness to stay at the club, contingent upon management’s satisfaction with his performance this season.

However, he emphasized that his willingness was also hinged upon player happiness, hinting at potential discord within the squad.

Mauricio Pochettino: “If we are happy then it’s perfect, but it’s not only if the owners are happy… you need to ask us also because maybe we are not happy and we need to split”

I have been closely following Chelsea’s matches under Pochettino, and it’s evident that while results were not always what the fans wanted to see, there was a discernible footballing philosophy he was trying to instill in his players.

Injuries have plagued Chelsea, sidelining key players like Reece James, Madueke, Chukwuemeka, Sanchez, Nkunku, and Lavia for significant portions of the season. Despite boasting an expensive squad, the team has often been deprived of its full potential, with only a fraction available for selection.

Managers formulate plans during preseason and transfer windows, signing players to fit their vision. However, when key personnel are unavailable, adaptation becomes imperative. The reason why Plan B is always the second option is because it is inferior and may not achieve what was envisioned in Plan A.

Pochettino has been forced to resort to Plan B due to these setbacks, hindering the seamless execution of his strategy.

I have always been against constant managerial change. I believe some strategies require time for full implementation. Others require resources while the rest relies upon player adaptability.

The knee-jerk reaction of sacking managers after poor spells overlooks the crucial aspect of player adaptation.

Patience is key in allowing managers the time to implement their ideas effectively. Chelsea fans must therefore revert to the patience route and afford Pochettino another season to realize his vision for the club.

Let me know what you think in the comments.
